Temptation by Covenant Adebayo [Script]

SCENE 6: INT. RUTH APARTMENT. EVENING

Ruth sits and faces the Camera.

RUTH: That was how I was delivered and maintained my chastity. I am free from the tight grip of satan. I rose up from that encounter a different person. Though I saw him severally afterwards, that inordinate affection had died. Since, I’ve always make sure that I am in a company of a friend whenever I have to see him, or ensure his wife is around. With several other precautionary measures, I have maintained my chastity.

Camera pans 270 degrees to reveal Miss Clara weeping.

RUTH: Weep not the weep of for regret. Rather, weep for repentance. Those of us you admire today for our noble characters, virtues and beautiful lives have not also been spared the temptations of this world. We had failed, fallen and fumbled but we didn’t stay down. We reached out for the mercies of God and his grace enabled us to overcome. That grace is still available. (Clara kneels soberly in prayers; Ruth walks to her, hold her hands) Isaiah 1:18 says “Come now and let us reason together says the Lord. Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be with as snow, though they be red as crimson; they shall be with as wool.
