Temptation by Covenant Adebayo [Script]

SCENE 5: INT. RUTH APARTMENT. EVENING

Ruth paces up and down in her room apparently disturbed. She kneels to pray. She hears a disturbing voice in her head.

VOICE: You are so filthy. You are a shame and a disappointment to God and all those singles that look up to you. Do you think God can hear you? You are doomed.

RUTH: Oh Lord, I’m sorry. Please have mercy on me. I don’t know what came over me.

VOICE: God is angry with you. He has put you aside. You are a disappointment.

RUTH: Ah, I only felt the warmth of his embrace and his caresses; I didn’t allow him to kiss me.

VOICE: But in your heart, you have kissed him and gone to bed with another man’s wife. You don’t deserve God’s love.

RUTH: No. God loves me unconditionally. Thought the arms of flesh fail me, he will not cast me away. You accuser, enough is enough, shut up. (She falls down and starts wailing before God.) Lord Jesus, please forgive me, deliver me from this inordinate affection. I want to live for your glory. I receive grace to be pure and holy. Lord… (a white cloud envelopes her.)
