WOMAN: (overhearing their discussion) I think those nurses are talking about my bill hmm…. God help me, how will I settle this bill? I have no helper.
PATIENT 1: I think you should first thank God for your health and recovery.
(In the hospital. It’s the middle of the night, the woman opens her eyes suddenly. She sits up while looking around and thinking)
THE WOMAN: How will I pay this bill? (Looks at her neighbor) She said I should be thanking God. Hmm… Can that pay my bills?
ANOTHER PATIENT 1: hah! Why don’t you sleep? The Bible said we should cast our burdens upon the Lord. Any problem that you cannot solve, drop it with Jesus.
ANOTHER PATIENT 2: A week ago, when you were rushed here, did you know anything?
THE WOMAN: I can’t even recollect anything at all
ANOTHER PATIENT 2: So, you better thank God. The God that healed you will also see you through. Before you gained your consciousness see those bed that are vacant. They’ve gone.
THE WOMAN: Hay! Thank you. Lord I’m very sorry, thank you for healing me.
(After a few days, the doctor comes to the woman with two Nurses)
DOCTOR: Hello madam! Your health is now stable, we’ll be discharging you very soon
NURSE: but doctor, she has not settled her bills?
DOCTOR: I know. It has been paid for.
NURSE: (confused) No sir. I’m supposed to have seen the payment, no one has come to pay her bill.
DOCTOR: (smiles and looks at the Woman) Yes. The cup of chilled milk has paid the bill.
